Senior Associate with more than 20 years of experience in public and private projects, as well as public – private partnerships (PPAs). In December 2021, she re-joined HEADRICK as Senior Director of the Division of Intellectual Property, Lifesciences and Healthcare.
She specializes in Intellectual Property, Life Sciences and Healthcare, corporate and business matters, administrative law, infrastructures and IP and administrative litigation.
Throughout her professional career in the private and public sectors, Miguelina Figueroa has stood out for her leading role in legal advice and client representation before the Executive Branch, the National Congress, the Judicial Branch, written and digital media, business associations and international and multilateral organizations. She actively contributed to the drafting and support of legislative proposals for the enactment and/or amendment of sectoral regulations and national programs in sector of hydrocarbons, intellectual property, infrastructure, mobility and transportation, such as IP Industrial Law 20-00 and its ruling of enforcement (2000), Public Trusts RD-VIAL (2013) and PARQUEAT_RD (2019), the National Strategic Plans for Road Safety (PNSV: 2017-2020) and for a Sustainable of Urban Mobility (PEMUS: 2017-2022).
She is graduated summa cum laude as a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (1997). She completed a postgraduate degree in Foreign Trade and Commerce at the University of Barcelona (2003, with honors). She has a master’s degree in Business Law from the Francisco the Vitoria University and Madrid Bar Association, (2005, with honors). She also completed a postgraduate degree in Leadership and Management at Barna Management School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (2020). She speaks Spanish and English.
