His professional practice focuses on criminal cases related to economic fraud and high-tech crimes; labor law; conflicts related to industrial and intellectual property matters; as well as litigation related to civil law and environmental law.
Rafael Santana received his Bachelor of Laws, Magna Cum Laude, from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in 2008. In 2009, he obtained an International Diploma in Criminal Litigation from the Universidad Alberto Hurtado of Chile. In 2011, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Criminology Applied to the Execution of Sentences, from the Universidad de Murcia (UM), Spain. Additionally, in 2011 he obtained a Master’s Degree in Criminal Procedure Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD); and, a Diploma in Civil Procedural Law from the Fundación Institucionalidad y Justicia (FINJUS). In 2019, he received a Certification in Oral Trial and Strategic Criminal Litigation from the Latin American Bar Association, in New York City, United States of America.
Mr. Santana is a member of the Dominican Bar Association. He is fluent in Spanish and English; and has basic knowledge of French.
